The enormous suffering of the people of Venezuela has inspired the SSIO in Latin America to assist families in need.

Venezuela was one of Latin America’s wealthiest nations back in the 1970s. The devastating economic crisis and food shortages have left almost 90 percent of the population in poverty. Prices rose 4,068 percent in the 12 months before January 2018 and most people cannot afford necessities.

Food and other essential items were purchased by the SSIO in Panama and then shipped to Venezuela by courier – 50 lb boxes were delivered directly to the homes of those in need.

The first SSIO shipment arrived successfully in July and a second shipment was sent in August 2018.
