Since our last report dated December 13th, 2016, the SSIO-Indonesia deployed a second team of volunteers to visit and work with children. Given the traumatic events of December 7th, when an earthquake of 6.5 magnitude struck the island of Sumatra killing over 100 people, our volunteers have poured their love and time into helping children’s emotions and memories heal. From playing fun games, to sharing feelings, to singing together and enjoying sports, our volunteers have brought much love and joy to the children of the Aceh province.
Additional support and teams of volunteers are expected to travel to the affected area over the next weeks. We shall continue to provide updates through this website.
